My Story
Born in San Diego, and raised in Salt Lake City, I had quite the eclectic upbringing. No matter the circumstance, time or place, music fused into each part of my life. I attended four different schools throughout my education dedicated to the arts (LaVilla School of the Arts, The Madeleine Choir School, Salt Lake School for the Performing Arts, and the University of Utah MTP). It is safe to say that I had my sights set on this world early on.
Growing up, some of the greatest joys of my life came from the opportunities to use my voice and bring joy to those around me. My dad would often play the Greatest Hits of all the "Greatest", and encourage me to sing along over and over again. My dramatic admiration for pop, rock, and r&b was the perfect foundation for the moment I delved into musical theatre.
Now, for over thirteen years, I have been training in not only musical theatre, but also vocal performance of several genres; not to mention, 9 years of technical dance training, in ballet, jazz, and modern. I love to perform more than anything. Not only from the way it fills up my spirit, but from the way I have watched it transform those who experience it. I relish in being a small part in an escape for someone, a brightening of their day, or a seed planted that will make them look at the world in a new, beautiful way. I also love to teach, and enjoy helping someone find their voice, and themselves in the studio.
Outside of the stage, I am also a wife to my very best friend and partner, Jeffrey. A musician himself, we especially love to share in songwriting with one another, and playing music together. We are non-denominational Christians, and enjoy leading worship together. My husband is the founder of a non-profit, Joyful Noise, where we get to unite people of varying levels of Christian backgrounds, and varying levels of faith, to share in nights of community. Besides all that, I love to knit, do hot yoga, window shop, rollerskate, play video, card, and board games, make coffee, and to cook and bake for my family-- particularly I find myself stealing all of my Nonna's recipes.
As I continue to nourish and cultivate my craft, I cannot wait to see all the opportunities, friends and stories I will find and share along the way.
